Dr Jason Brun
BDent (Hons)(USyd) GDipDImplant (CSU), BSci (USyd)
Dr Jason Brun worked for several years in private practice in the Blue Mountains, South Coast and in Sydney’s Hills district.
In 2018 Jason was thrilled to achieve his goal of opening his own practice, Shine Bright Dental, in Castle Hill. He always wanted to own a practice where he could look after the community he grew up in and still knows so well.
Dr Jason’s patients recommend him to their friends because he takes the time to put them at ease. They like how he explains treatments every step of the way, and they appreciate his easy tips to better care for their teeth at home.
Jason enjoys meeting new people every day, catching up with regular patients and the Shine Bright team.
When he’s not at work you’ll find him spending time with his wife Rachel (who you’ll also get to know as our practice manager), his young son and daughter and three dogs. He loves the outdoors — scuba diving or being outdoors enjoying the sunshine, gardening and home improvements. He is also partial to a Dad joke – so BRACE yourself when you come in for your appointment!
Dr Jason graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Dentistry achieving Honours at Sydney University. Before this, he completed an undergraduate degree — a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biology and Marine Science.
To be able to offer a wide range of treatments in-house to his patients, he has completed post-graduate studies in dental implants and cosmetic injectables.
Dr Jason completed his Graduate Diploma in Implantology at Charles Sturt University in 2016 and then the AADFA Fundamentals course to administer cosmetic injectables in 2019.
Dr Jason is available to see patients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please note that Dr Jason regularly has a waitlist of 8-12 weeks.

Dr Darpana Hasji
DMD (USyd), BOH (USyd)
Dr Darpana Hasji joined our team of Dentists at Shine Bright Dental at the beginning of 2022. From a very young age, Dr Darpana Hasji has always known she wanted to work in oral health. After completing high school, she completed her Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Sydney. Darpana was then qualified to practice as an Oral Health Therapist or an OHT, providing preventative dental services to patients of all ages. In her role as an OHT, Darpana would see a lot of children performing their routine check ups and cleans and restoring teeth that needed fillings.
After practicing as an OHT, Darpana wanted to expand her skill set and take on the challenge of Dentistry. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney. Dr Darpana has a keen interest in paediatric dentistry, endodontics, extractions and crowns.
Darpana grew up in Sydney’s north shore and now lives locally with her husband and baby, daughter in the Hills. In her spare time she loves hanging out with her friends and family, playing netball and baking!

Elissa Rowston
BOHT (UoN), BSci (MQ)
Elissa started working at Shine Bright Dental the year we opened, in 2018. She started as a dental assistant with us while undertaking postgraduate studies in medical imaging. During her formative years with us, Elissa worked in all facets of Shine Bright Dental, including dental assisting, treatment coordinating, reception and in our in-house dental lab constructing whitening trays, orthodontic retainers and mouthguards. Elissa has also worked very closely with Dr Jason who has mentored her. With all this exposure to dentistry (and encouragement from Dr Jason), it was only a matter of time until the dental bug bit her. And it bit her hard!
Elissa made the decision to discontinue her studies in medical imaging and focus her attention on dentistry. Elissa has graduated from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy and is qualified in the screening, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of gum and dental disease. In late 2024 she was offered a coveted position to study Dentistry at the University of Sydney commencing in 2025. During her time studying at the University of Sydney, Elissa will work as Shine Bright Dental’s Oral Health Therapist.
Elissa has a strong commitment to preventative dentistry. It is through Elissa’s enthusiastic approach toward patient education that she believes her patients can achieve healthy teeth and gums. Elissa is able to provide primary oral health care to children and adults of all ages through general and periodontal assessments, cleaning, restorations (fillings), extractions, mouthguards and whitening procedures. For more complex dental plans, Elissa works collaboratively with our team of dentist’s to ensure optimal dental outcomes for the patient. Elissa is a country girl at heart so when she’s not studying, you can find her riding her horse, Kiwi, going for walks and hanging out with her family and friends.
Elissa is available to see patients on Saturdays.
